CrossFit · Launching November 1st
Know what
you can do.
Watch it grow.
Log the workouts you already do at your box. GrowZyx tells you what it expects before you start, what you produced when you finish, and what it learned about you in between.
One email on launch day. Nothing else.
A small group of athletes is already training with it.
Can't yet: Ring Muscle-up. The first rep you log lifts it.
Inside the app
Four screens. Everything else is the engine doing its work behind them.
Before you start
Your predictions, from your numbers
Fran, Grace, Helen, Cindy, Murph and more, predicted from what it knows about you today. Beside each one, the published average, so you know where you stand.
Every number carries its confidence: measured, reported, rough or guess. Nothing pretends to be surer than it is.
Can't yet: Ring Muscle-up. The first rep you log lifts it.
Thirty seconds
Log it as it was on the whiteboard
Rounds, movements, reps, loads, the time on the clock. A metcon, a benchmark or a strength day.
For strength work, say how many reps you had left, or that you missed one. Those are the two things that teach the engine the most, and they take a tap each.
After you finish
Two numbers, pointing opposite ways
Output is the physical work you did: kilojoules, watts, points. It is comparable between people, and it rises as you get fitter.
Effort is how much it took out of you. The same workout costs less next month. Where the load landed, muscle by muscle, is underneath.
And then: what it learned. In words, with the reason.
Getting to know you
Four questions, then only what you know
Level, sex, bodyweight, how you train. That is enough to start. If you know a few numbers, five short screens take them; skip anything you don't.
If you cannot do a movement yet, put zero. It stops the engine guessing you can, and it becomes your list of what to work on.
What makes it different
Things we built into it on purpose. Judge them on the clock.
It predicts before you start
A time for Fran, rounds for Cindy, from your own numbers. Afterwards it shows how far off it was, and moves. A model that can be wrong can be trusted.
Two numbers, not one score
Output in kilojoules and watts, comparable with anyone. Effort relative to you, which falls as you improve. Neither is a mystery point system.
It learns from how the set felt
Reps in reserve, a missed rep, a finishing time. Each moves your numbers by exactly as much as it deserves, and the report says why.
Zero is an answer
Cannot do a movement yet? Say so. Nothing is assumed from your level or from a related skill, and the first rep you log lifts it.
Fatigue is modelled, not tagged
Within a session, capacity shrinks as you work and returns as you rest, set by set. Between sessions, each muscle group recovers on its own clock.
Your log is never rewritten
What you did is stored as you wrote it. When the model improves, your whole history is re-scored under the better one. Nothing you logged is ever lost.
Your programming, or ours
Log your box's programming exactly as it is, or follow weekly programmes the engine drafts around your gaps (next to arrive). Either way it is not here to take your coach's place: it is here so you see clearly where you are developing and where you need more work.
Every figure shows its confidence
Measured, reported, rough or guess, on every number, so you always know whether a prediction rests on a test or on a level.
The mathematics is written down
Load-rep curves, critical speed, fatigue kinetics, precision-weighted learning. One document, every formula, every coefficient, and where each came from.
How it works
- 1
Tell it your level
Four questions. No spreadsheet of records. Add numbers if you know them; say zero if you can't do something yet.
- 2
Log what you did
As it was on the whiteboard. Thirty seconds after the workout, on your phone, in the car park.
- 3
Watch it learn
Each session sharpens its picture of you. Predictions move. The can't-yet list gets shorter.
Questions
Do I need to know my PRs?
No. Four questions are enough to start. Anything you add later, or log, makes it sharper.
Does it change my programming?
Only if you want it to. Log what your box gives you and it measures that. Weekly programmes drafted by the engine around your gaps are next to arrive, for athletes who want them.
What if I scaled the workout?
Log the load you actually used. Scaled work is real work, and it is scored as such.
What if I can't do a movement?
Enter zero. The engine stops assuming, and the movement joins your list of things to work on until you log a rep.
Is my data mine?
Yes. Everything you log is stored as you entered it and can be exported. It is never sold.
When?
November 1st. Leave your email above and you hear from us once, that day.
